One of my initial methods of communication with Prince was with oracle cards. Later I learned the Major Arcana tarot cards. I enjoy the complexity and the flexibility that the traditional tarot offers. So many different meanings can be conveyed in these cards. I don't necessarily use it in keeping with the defined meaning of the cards, but rather, I allow the symbols in the cards to give me a narrative to answer the query. This week, the cherry blossoms at High Park in Toronto was in full bloom. This was a well-anticipated event, as last year, there were no blossoms. THE ASCENSION OF PRINCE – NEW WORKS BY ANDREA MAI

When I first started to see Prince in my visions, we would meet in the sky. I once heard is mother's voice greeting me, and I saw him hanging out with his friends. Sometimes I would see us dancing amongst the clouds. It was later that I noticed him more as an energetic presence with me, of which I could physically sense. I feel his presence as an electromagnetic field around me.

A LONG CONVERSATION – NEW WORK BY ANDREA MA

This week, it hit me pretty hard with how much I want to go "home", wherever that is. I went to have a palm reading and the lady could see that I've been having trouble sleeping, tossing and turning, bizarre dreams. She asked me what I dreamed about and I broke down in tears. Sometimes I don't remember my dreams. But I know that it's likely because I was "home", and that my memories of it get erased so that I won't miss it so much. I've been feeling so homesick and quite frankly, tired . . .

LIFE ADVICE FROM A LEGALLY BLIND ARTIST

I think the number one things people are curious about, when they find out about my visual disability is, "What can you see?" I would say that it is like having blurry vision all the time. Even though I can have glasses, they only help a tiny bit, so I rather not wear them at all.  I was diagnosed as a teenager for Stargardt disease, a genetic condition affecting the retina. THE COSMIC JOURNEY – NEW WORKS BY ANDREA MAI

Last week on Valentine's Day, I shot some new images. It takes time for ideas to develop mentally and to prepare for a shoot. Selecting what image to project is crucial. This time, I selected a side profile of  image of Prince and overlapped it with an image of the starry night sky that I took while I was in the French countryside. I wanted this to feel cosmic. Funny enough, I had this fur neck warmer that I ought in 2015, that is a match to Prince's fur coat. We always had similar taste in fashion.
