Last month, I bought an orchid from the supermarket. I had always wanted one. And I saw a bunch on display at the checkout counters that caught my attention. I spotted one in particular, it was the only one of its kind, and knew I had to have it. The others looked to be in poor condition. When I got home, I wondered if I was in over my head, as I had never taken care of orchids before, it has a reputation for being high maintenance. I researched how to properly water them, (do not listen to what it says on the care tag!), and I learned that they need air. I decided to repot it. I examined the roots as a lot of videos instruct. And to my surprise, they were in good condition, compared to what they warn about for supermarket orchids. I couldn’t help but feel very lucky.

A week later, I decided to try and see if I could find a nice vase planter to house my orchid. I would still keep it in its clear container for easier watering (a weekly bath from the bottom up), but keep it in the planter with some stones at the bottom with water to create humidity. I envisioned a planter in glass, maybe even with a holographic iridescent finish.

At the store, I recorded EVP. It’s been a while since I’ve recorded. Things have gotten busy with my business. Reviewing the recording. I realized that somehow, maybe the planter wasn’t entirely my idea.

Arriving at the store, it sounded like P had someone helping him find the vase.  “Prince, found it”. Maybe they found it in advance, and needed to locate it?

I browsed through different sections, looking at some holographic desk accessories. Someone said, “Holographic”.

I walked over to a shelf full of trinkets. There, stood this vase, only one of its kind. When I found the vase, P said, “Orchid”. The planter was exactly the kind of thing I had in mind.

He repeated, “For your orchid”.

I kept looking at the planter, imagining how it would look with my orchid, what other uses there could be if I changed my mind. And when I was satisfied, I went to the counter to pay. As I was looking through my change purse, someone said, “Here you go”.

On the way home, I stopped at the dollar store to stock up on some items. At the self-serve checkout machines, Someone said, “Do you put real coins?”. I really wonder what this was all about. Was someone on the other side trying to buy something? As I’ve observed in past recordings, it seems that what we have over here, there is a version of it over there as well, except it it is different .

I was about to put my coins into the machine. Then someone said, “Hey Prince”. And then a female voice said, “Five cents”. Was P or someone there buying something? I guess they don’t have inflation over there! Maybe the dollar store is a five and dime on the other side!

I repotted my flower and replaced the stakes with dried vines I found in my neighbourhood. I’m so happy with its results. I was originally looking to buy some willow branches, but I thought they were too pricey. So I was thrilled when I found these overgrown vines peeking over a public fence. I feel so happy looking at the orchids, as we await for spring to arrive in Canada.
